ABOUT US
We are an exclusively open source software (OSS) oriented business incubator. Our mission is to foster economic development by promoting, funding, and supporting the formation and growth of companies that commercially develop new technologies, products, and services that rely on open source licensed software.
Our incubator, with its dedicated focus on open source software product and service companies, is unlike any other. Our team knows and understands the challenges faced by open source entrepreneurs because we have faced those same challenges as we have built and scaled organizations that have leveraged the power of open source software. This includes creating open source technologies with over one billion downloads and tens of millions of active users (Anaconda, NumPy, PyTorch, SciPy, etc.).
WHAT WE DO
We help start, grow, and sustain open source software communities (both company backed and community driven) and the companies and entrepreneurs that emerge from them. We do this by providing venture services such as advising and mentoring, bookkeeping, business incubation, capital investment, human resource (HR) support, legal, marketing, product management, technology development, and training, to a wide variety of organizations and open source software projects.
Decades of open source software and technology commercialization experience help us not only provide the rocket fuel that open source technology companies need, but also help our incubator clients and companies successfully organize and execute on the demand for innovative solutions to industry problems that leverage the power of open source software communities.
HOW WE CAN HELP
You have open source software needs and we have open source software solutions. One of the keys to launching successful companies is having access to the right advisors and resources. Many open source technology entrepreneurs, especially first time founders, don’t know where to begin. Seasoned entrepreneurs and established companies are also looking for experienced experts who can help them navigate open source business models and go to market strategies for products or services that rely on open source technologies. Whether looking for help building an online community, launching a new open source software product or service offering, understanding open source licensing models, expanding the technical team, or navigating the complexities of launching an early stage startup, OpenTeams Incubator can help.

ADVISOR NETWORK
We have assembled an experienced group of open source technology mentors and advisors to support, connect with, and help build the next generation of pioneering open source technology companies. We believe the best way to help open source companies thrive is to surround their founders (our clients) with aspirant peers who’ve already successfully navigated the process of launching an open source technology company. Whether navigating open source software licensing models, trying to understand how to build or grow an open source community, or seeking assistance with building a product development roadmap, the OS BIG advisor network can help.
